Money for the initiative comes mainly from the South West Regional Development Agency.

The initiative is led by a Steering Group. Members of the Steering Group are: Sandy Angove (Chair), John Brailey (Vice Chair), Bernard Rees (Secretary), Morley Thomas, Kevin McFadden, Elaine Eade, Monty Nicholls, Rob Snashall and Cornelius Olivier.

The Steering Group are all volunteers. There are two paid employees to help the initiative progress, they are Jennifer Gourley (Coordinator) and one other - yet to be appointed.

Before the final plan, called the 'Community Plan' can be formulated various activities need to be completed. They are

Healthcheck -> Survey

The Healthcheck is a snapshot of St. Just, Pendeen and surrounding parishes as they are now. The results of the Healthcheck help to decide which questions should be included in the Survey, it shows what is missing, what the community is interested in.

The Survey is a way of finding out what the community wants for their future. The more people who complete and return their Survey, the more the final Community Plan will reflect what the community want.

Community Plan -> Action

Once the Surveys have been completed and returned they will be analysed to formulate the Community Plan. The Community Plan is a written document detailing the wishes of the community for their future. This plan will also be used to give input to the Penwith 2025 Vision, a community strategy for the whole of Penwith District.

Action is the final stage, the Community Plan is acted upon, over time, and the community plans for their future become real.
